Katlego Gouwe, stage name DJ Fortee, is a South African DJ, producer, and songwriter from Pretoria, known for his influence in the Afro House and soulful house music scene.
He began his music journey in 2005, teaching himself DJing and gaining experience by performing at small local events, parties, and community gatherings. During his early years, he built recognition by sharing mixes widely and gradually developing a reputation within Pretoria’s underground music circles.
As his skills evolved, he transitioned into music production around 2010 and secured his early breakthrough after collaborating with established industry figures, including working with DJ Choice on multiple production projects.
DJ Fortee later expanded his career through both solo work and collaborations. He formed the duo KomFort Blendz with vocalist Komplexity, releasing music under House Afrika Records, before launching his solo albums, including "The Murmur" and "The Groove," which helped define his signature Afro-soulful house sound.
Over time, he has worked with major African artists such as Black Motion, Lady Zamar, DJ Tira, Niniola, and Lady Du, strengthening his presence in the continental dance music industry.
